A fundraising gig was cancelled amid safety concerns SUS-160316-152155001

A fundraising gig to raise money for refugees and the homeless was forced to cancel after intimidation from a splinter group of far-right street protesters.

Simon Wood organised the event, which was due to take place at the Seaford Con Club on Friday (March 18).

The evening was set to feature Simon’s band, Anti-dim Outfit, the legendary Charlie Harper (UK Subs), and local band the Koan Brothers.

Simon’s partner, Kristina Veasey, said: “Unfortunately, the Con Club have had to cancel our booking for the refugee and homeless fundraising gig. We are told by management this is due to intimidation from the far right and consideration for safety of staff and audience.

“It is a small venue without the security to ensure safety of audience and staff, or protection of the newly refurbished building, should any far-right supporters come to cause trouble.
